Founded in June 1997, The Yews has proudly served the Alvaston community for nearly 25 years. Nestled in the historic part of town, our home sits within peaceful grounds, just a short walk from local amenities.
Overview of Our Care Services
We offer a broad range of services tailored to each individuals needs.
Following our recent extension and refurbishment, we now care for up to 40 residents. We also offer flexible Day Care and Respite Care options, tailored to support families when they need it most.
Comfort is key at The Yews from our spacious bedrooms to bright lounges and lovely gardens. At the heart of it all is a committed Home Manager and an experienced, caring team.
Dementia Care
Our staff are trained in dementia care and communication. We create a familiar, supportive environment that reduces anxiety and promotes confidence.
End of Life Care
Compassionate palliative care focused on comfort, dignity, and family support during a sensitive time.
Day Care Service
Flexible day support for older adults in the community who need companionship, activities, meals, and light care throughout the day.

We are a small, independently run care home offering a homely setting with personalised attention. Residents enjoy tailored support, daily activities, and warm companionship all underpinned by high standards of care.
Our Environment
Our home is clean, calm, and designed to support well-being. Bedrooms can be personalised, communal lounges are welcoming, and our gardens offer space for reflection or socialising. Secure landscaped gardens surround our home, along with a sensory garden so our residents and their visitors can sit and enjoy the surroundings.

From home-cooked meals to hairdressing visits, faith services, and entertainment, every day is enriched with activity and joy. Residents are supported to live as independently as possible while enjoying safety and community.
